From no coding as a career to why not coding as a career…

Notion and All !

Well.., that wasn’t something out of the box decision since I was a computer science student at first place. But all the coding I did in college was only for the sake of marks, if you ask me now about it, umm.. well don’t ask because I won’t be able to answer. So for 1.5 years of my degree I was coding just because it was a part of my education and I wasn’t even going to consider it as a part of my career because I never did it out of passion.

So you must be wondering what made me change my mind..well we are getting there, just hold for a bit. So in 3rd year computer science students are supposed to prepare 2 projects and I needed really good ideas for my project. So I started thinking about problems students faced during college and decided to build something that would at least solve those problems by 50% . But I needed proper advice and direction and guess what I got the best mentor anyone could ever ask for! And I just kept following his instructions.

And guess what I actually did it and I really enjoyed that part of the coding and started doing it regularly, got to know so many things about it,even got to know about deployment and I enjoyed it too. My interest was building day by day and that’s when I realized ‘this is fun, I enjoy doing this’ . Also when I showed my project to my mentor, she really appreciated my idea and execution. After that session I talked to my mentor and he said ‘I am proud of you! This is just the beginning, you have got a lot more to achieve’ and that’s it,that’s when I felt overwhelmed, motivated and really great. Actually I liked that feeling and some part of me wanted more of it. And that’s how i finally got from no coding as a career to why not coding as a career ;).

So always remember one thing, “if you are not doing what you love or even if you are doing what you love, don’t ever hesitate to try something new. If you don’t enjoy it after trying don’t do it but don’t even hesitate to try it out first.Because you never know what that thing will lead you to…”
